If you are a star gazer or someone intrigued with astronomy, here’s a fascinating event for you. There will be a “Total Lunar Eclipse” on April 15th 2014 at 3am EDT. It will be visible in the Australia, the Americas and Pacific.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes through the Earth’s shadow. The Earth’s shadow consists of 2 parts, a dark inner core called the umbra and a lighter outer part called the penumbra. The umbra may take on a range of colors from light coppery red to almost total black. For anyone up at that hour, this should be fascinating to watch and should last more than an hour.

Thank you SYLVIA BROWNE.

This week the world lost one of its most valuable vessels of wisdom and grace, the very gifted Psychic Sylvia Browne.  I could give a bald facts history of her life or I could just say THANK YOU to Sylvia and all who believed in her abilities including her guide Francine and other souls who collaborated with her here and on the Other Side where she has now gone.

My own encounters with Sylvia began several years ago when my computer, for no apparent reason, went haywire the day Sylvia’s autobiography arrived in the mail.  I moaned and groaned to my family about having to put my computer in the shop and just like many others addicted to cyberspace, I could not imagine what I would do for the days and what eventually turned into two weeks that my internet surfing vehicle was in for repairs. Little did I know that this set of circumstances would change my life in a very positive and challenging way.  The time I spent reading Sylvia’s book during this time changed my journey forever.

Although I had done readings for quite some time on an informal basis and had always seen angels and visions as far back as I can remember, I had not yet sufficiently applied my talents in the way I was about to be called to do so.  While working my way through Sylvia’s biography I marveled at the similarities and familiarities of our life experiences. Thus began my journey with dreams, visions and encounters that I could not ignore with none other than the soul of Sylvia Browne.

When I read Wednesday November 20, 2013 of her passing I smiled, prayed and cried.  However, I knew deep inside that she would now be more accessible to me than ever before.  So to my dear friend Sylvia Browne whose soul goes marching on I thank you for your continued guidance and encouragement as I try to carry on a mission that you and others before you submitted to willingly, knowing that we do... Thanksgiving is here once again and we are so thankful that you are part of our family. We are thankful that you allow us to help you with your choices and your journey. We are thankful that you put your trust in our abilities. We are thankful that you are you.

While enjoying the feast of the harvest, let us remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving. And let us remember the people in the Phillipines who are trying to put their lives back together after Haiyan devastated that region several weeks ago

So it’s that time of the year again. We decorate, we share and we celebrate. It is a time for joy, but for many it can be a period of sadness. So how can we make this holiday happy and meaningful for us and others?

Let us SHARE

There are many ways to share other than monetarily.

Help someone in need, a neighbor, a friend or even a stranger. When you make that special meal, or bake those holiday cookies, think of putting a smile on someone’s face by sharing them.

Get involved in community projects such as toys for tots, helping out at a homeless shelter. Check with your local newspaper or news agencies for local charitable organizations looking for volunteers or donations.

Let there be PEACE

Cultivate peace by encouraging and empowering yourself with wise, positive, friendly thoughts.

Let there be JOY

Be unselfish and make someone other than yourself happy. Help them to decorate by using simple home made decorations. Many of my favorite decorations are home made, they are very festive and above all meaningful.

For those of us who live alone with no one to share the holidays with, solitude does not have to be loneliness. You can choose to be around people during this time by also volunteering and getting involved in community projects or just picking up the phone and calling someone you haven’t spoken to for a while. Both of you will be glad you did. The rewards will be great.

Happy Halloween to my PsychicPower Family! Did you know that the famous magician Houdini died on October 31st?

Halloween is one of my absolutely favorite holidays. One of the main reasons is because it’s enjoyed by everyone. I love to see children of all ages dressed up in their costumes. They are always so very adorable. How can anyone refuse them candy treats?

Carving pumpkins is an enjoyable and entertaining project which should involve the entire family. If you don’t like carving you can always paint a fun face. In our house we always make it a contest. Then we use those pumpkins for decorations, adding some fun Halloween props indoors and out.

Have you ever hosted a masquerade ball? I love trying to figure out who is under the mask.

What to do with the left over candy… you may pack the extra pounds on by continue eating them daily, or here is an idea… you can donate them.

How do you celebrate Halloween? We would love to hear from you….

The Fall Equinox occurs Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 11:09 ET.  This is the time to decide what you want to create and set your intentions to do exactly that!  Then, take an action that supports what your vision is.  This lets the universe know that you mean business are are willing to whatever necessary to create what you want.  For example, if you want to get a new job, you could write your intentions or paper or in a journal.  Then take a look at a job posting website in your area of interest.  It gets the proverbial ball rolling in the right direction.  Best wishes!

I recently went to google a term with the word "psychic" in it and noticed that "psychic octopus" is the second most popular search word in this category.  Most certainly, this is so because of the now famous Paul the Octopus who made headlines during this summer's World Cup.  Although the Cup is long over, I wanted to pay tribute Paul and his amazing psychic powers!

All eyes are currently on the Gulf oil spill. BP has stated that they feel that they should be able to have a solution in place by the 27th of July. I drew three cards to see what we need to know about this solution. The cards drawn, and position definitions, were:

Past: The Emperor

Present: Nine of Swords

Future: Ace of Swords

The Emperor represents, IMHO, two people: US President Obama, and BP CEO Tony Hayward. Both gentlemen have strong positions to defend, and strong organizations to keep on an even keel. Both men are authoritarian figures, strong rulers, and are able to implement the decisions that they make. Both men are responsible for the people that work under them/elected them.

The Nine of Swords describes the chaos (albeit organized chaos) that the Gulf oil spill has generated. (I truly think this should have a bigger name – a “spill” is a glass of milk all over the floor – this much oil over this amount of physical area is way beyond that!) Everyone is worried – about the oil still spewing out, the damage done to the creatures of the ocean and the assorted bird populations, to the wetland areas, to the fishermen who are losing/have lost their livelihood, and to the associated businesses that may well not make it through this. Removing the oil from the ocean is not going to magically return the ocean and its inhabitants to good health. Much fear and anxiety here.

Aces are cards of opportunity. This in itself is a good sign. Aces are intellect and clear vision. They are also cards of communication. President Obama has made it clear t hat BP needs to have more than one backup plan in case the current plan does not work. BP seems to be reaching out and communicating with all individuals and agencies that can give them some help with this situation. We have to remember that this is relatively uncharted territory (underwater oil drilling), BP may have made some poor management decisions,... Read More

On July 4th here in the United States we celebrate our independence from Great Britain. We are a country of, by and for the people. Our freedoms are so inherently a part of us that we take them for granted – for over 200 years it has been this way. We have the freedom to express our opinions (freedom of speech), the freedom to bear arms, the freedom to live where we want, to live how we want, and to be educated to the extent that we want. Many of our people have lost their lives fighting for these freedoms.

On this day, we will attend picnics and family gatherings, watch (or perhaps participate in) parades, and enjoy incredible displays of fireworks set off nationwide. All of this in honor of our heritage, of who we are, and what this country stands for.

I did a short reading on how we can best honor this 4th of July:

(1) Spiritual Advice – The Moon

(2) Trait that we need to develop – Queen of Wands

(3) Actions that we can take - Two of Swords

The Moon tells us that we need to look closer – that we need to see what may be deceiving us, or how we may be deceiving ourselves (or others). We are also being advised to listen to our dreams, to our intuition, and to act on them accordingly.

The trait that we need to develop within ourselves is that of independence, and of being actively involved in our communities. We need to develop our sense of self-confidence, and allow ourselves to flow with our passions.

The action that we can take to honor our independence is that of not falling into the deceptive tap of trying to define everything – to classify things, to give them a name and, essentially, to create boundaries around them. We need to be able to suspend our judgment, to lose the need for self-protection, and to look for balance in a situation, rather than seeing everything in black and white.

Wishing you all a safe, sane 4th of July, with wonderful... Read More

In the US, the third Sunday in June (June 20th for 2010) is the day set aside to celebrate fathers and fatherhood. In 1966 President Lyndon Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, making the third Sunday in June Father’s Day. In 1972 President Richard Nixon signed the proclamation into law.

Father’s Day is a time when we honor our fathers, and those men in our lives that act in the manner that a father would, whether they are a blood relation or not. Our fathers have a great influence on our lives our lives – during our growing up years, and on into adulthood. Whatever our relationship with them, we honor them out of respect.

The celebration of Father’s Day is less about the gifts that we give than the time that we spend with our fathers. It is about family, time spent together, and family dinners – with our father’s favorite food taking pride of place on the menu!

For those of us that have lost our fathers, it is a time of remembrance. To go through family photo’s, and see through the years all the times that our father was there for us. To light a candle and say a prayer of thanks. To go for a walk somewhere that is dear to us, and allow our memories to come. Perhaps to go to the cemetery, clean the headstone and leave flowers, or perhaps a poem or letter.

However we choose to celebrate this day, we need to do so from our hearts. We need to set aside past hurts, to take time out from our busy schedules and honor one of the major influences in our life. We need to understand that our fathers did the best that they possibly could have done, given their circumstances.

The very best thing that we can do is live our lives to honor our fathers. To reflect the wisdom that they gave us in the most positive, most useful manner.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the fathers out there!

Memorial Day is celebrated in the United States on the last Monday in May.  For 2010 that is May 31st.  (The date was changed from May 30th to the last Monday in May in 1968 through the Uniform Holidays Bill, which moved three holidays – Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, and Veterans to Monday’s, in order to create three day weekends.) It is a federal holiday (formerly known as Decoration Day) honoring U.S. men and women who have died in service of their country. It was first enacted to honor the Union soldiers of the American Civil War, and was expanded after World War I.

The gravestones at Arlington National Cemetery are graced with American flags during the Memorial Day holiday. Many families and communities follow this custom for their own family members and friends, decorating graves in local cemeteries with small American flags.

There are several different ways in which Memorial Day is celebrated. There is a national moment of remembrance at 3 p.m. The flag of the United States is flown at half-staff from dawn until noon, local times. Volunteers place flags on the graves at national cemeteries. Members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars accept donations for poppies. This is also a time for family gatherings and picnics.

They fought for their country, they gave their lives for their country – for our country. Let's take the time on this day to offer a prayer of thanks.

This morning I came across the following article on 57 ancient tombs unearthed in Egypt. http://tinyurl.com/23wkqun What I found very interesting was that most of the tombs held a wooden sarcophagus (with a mummy inside) that was ornately painted. The oldest tombs date back to 2750 BC, the period of Egypt’s first and second dynasties, with 12 of the tombs belonging to the 18th dynasty.

The mummies from the 18th dynasty as said to be covered in linen decorated with religious texts from the Book of the Dead, along with scenes featuring ancient deities.

Some of he tombs themselves were decorated with religious text that was thought by ancient Egyptians to help the dead cross over.

The tombs were unearthed at Lahoun, which is located south of Cairo. It sounded to me, reading this article, that the tombs were found largely intact, which is a feat in and of itself. This discovery will shed new light on Egypt’s ancient religions, and, in my personal opinion, may help to validate some things that have already been discovered.

There are some excellent photographs in this article on this an other sites in Egypt, including photographs of sarcophagus, the sites themselves, statues and more.

What an excellent way to look back at ancient times and see how the world evolved as it did!

Wishing all mother’s out there a very Happy Mother’s Day! I am not a mother myself (except to my little fur people), but I have always enjoyed honoring this day. It is nice for me to see the women in my family – my mother, grandmothers, aunts, sister-in-law and niece – honored for their firm, steady and loving touch on the lives of the people around them.

Many memory moments are created by mothers – from the creation of holiday traditions, to guiding us through our schooling, to a general interest in how we are doing and where we are heading. The conversations are sometimes rather abrupt, as we grow up and come into our own. Then they even out into mutual respect.

For many of us boomers, we are now gong through the phase when we become parents to our parents. I think this is the most difficult phase of all – trying to determine how our parents are doing, and when to step in and offer help. I am very blessed, in that my brother, sister and I can keep close tabs on our mother, without making her feel that she does not have total control of her life.

What does this Mother’s Day mean to you? Are you nurturing your relationship with your mother (or perhaps one with your children)? Are there issues that need to be addressed … things that need to be said? Is your family getting together for dinner? Are you taking your mother out for dinner? In what way are you honoring your mother?

Relationships can be tricky things, and our relationship with our mother can be one of he trickiest. Step back so that you can see yours with fresh eyes. Look at what you can do to make things better, to make things run smoother, and to make both you and your mother happy. Each of you needs freedom to be who you are.

Yet again on Friday, May 7th, a three block area in the heart of Times Square was evacuated due to the presence of a suspicious package. (The previous evacuation was for the SUV that was left by a suspected terrorist with explosive material in it.) This time, the package contained only water bottles.

The bottles were left in a cooler in front of the Marriott Marquis Hotel at 46th and Broadway. The bomb squad was brought in, and the cooler was determined not to pose a threat.

There has been a reported thirty per cent increase in reports of suspicious packages since the SUV was found, which police say is a normal after affect.

I drew three cards on how we can look at this issue from the perspective of the Tarot:

What do we know: Three of Pentacles

What don’t we know: Judgment

What do we need to know: Five of Swords

We know that terrorist attacks can happen, and we know that we have the skills as a community, as a nation, to deal with them. We need to remain confident, and we will achieve our goal of maintaining safety.

What we don’t know, or rather, what we need to remember, is that we are all part of humankind. The distorted perceptions that drive the terrorists can be found in any culture, in any part of the world. We need to see each other as human beings, and judge actions rather than appearance. We need to retain (and strengthen) the link between our conscious and unconscious selves.

What we need to know is that if we try to set the rules of the game, our victory will be short lived. Those that we defeat will lose self-confidence and respect for themselves, and feel overwhelmed by the world that they live in. It is not to our advantage to make people feel worthless.

How do you feel about these terrorist attacks? How do you feel about the increased security, and precautions being taken because... Read More

We are facing a crisis of epic proportions in the aftermath of the disaster with the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. This comes at a time when we need to make a decision about the feasibility of off shore drilling in general. Did BP (the company behind the drilling) have adequate safety precautions in place? If not, why not?

In an article from 4/29/10 on AOL (under Daily Finance, written by Douglas McIntyre), there is an indication that the disaster could have been avoided if a remote control switch had been in place. Norway and Brazil require these switches be in place when drilling offshore in their waters. However, there are questions as to whether such a switch would have worked at that depth.

The spill is greater than anticipated, and is already affecting wild life and marine life, as well as businesses that deal with seafood. BP has taken responsibility, and stated that it would pay for the cost of cleanup. At this time, the U.S. Military is being called in to help. Why wasn’t this done sooner? Why was the material needed to assist with the cleanup stored clear up in Illinois?

The spill is reaching 5,000 barrels a day, and is past the point of being able to be burned off because the area is too large, and the resulting fire would be uncontrollable.

The impact is already being felt in the wetlands of Louisiana. The Audubon Nature Institute has its experts working to offer assistance with wildlife rehabilitation efforts. Information on how you can help can be accessed here - http://www.auduboninstitute.org/gulf-oil-spill-resources?gclid=CIn1-fjLuqECFQtSgwodcwES9Q.

This is a time for us to send prayers and healing light to this region and its inhabitants. To the marine life, the wild life, and the people living there, people who are losing their... Read More

One of my fondest childhood memories is of May Day (May 1st). As children, we took small May baskets to the neighbors, left them on their porches, rang the bell and ran away. This was how it was supposed to be done – an anonymous gift. It was fun to make and leave the gift, and it was fun, in turn, to receive the gifts on our doorstep.

Ancient celebrations of May Day date back to before the time of Christ. For the Druidic culture of the British Isles, May Day was connected with Beltane, and was the second most important holiday of the year. One of the customs in those times was the setting of a new fire, to honor the New Year. The Romans, when they entered the British Isles, added the worship of Flora, goddess of flowers to the celebration. Present day celebrations are more focused on lighthearted children’s activities, as opposed to honoring the fertility tradition.

The May pole is another tradition connected with May Day. Large poles are set up, with streamers coming from them. Individuals take hold of the streamer, and dance around the May pole. Sometimes the ribbons are braided around the May pole by the manner in which the dances weave in and out as they circle the pole.

On a more political note, in many countries May Day is also considered to be Labor Day, with the connotation of labor riots and other unrest.

How are you going to celebrate this May Day? You could choose to create your own May pole – either full size or a tabletop version. You could make it a family activity to create small May baskets (of spring flowers or other small tokens), to be left on neighbors doors. Or, if you live somewhere that this is a viable activity, you could invite your friends and neighbors over and light a bonfire to celebrate spring and the new year.

With May Day, we are marking a point in the calendar, a point in the year, and a point in our lives. It is a tradition that we... Read More

Readers of the Psychic Power web site were in the know ahead of time on an important world trend this month of April, 2010.  Even before the rise of the European air travel crisis caused by volcanic ash spewed from a glacier-covered volcano in Iceland, right here on Psychic Power these coming events were accurately described.

On April 12, predictions were posted which indicated serious travel problems due to arise for the period of April 12 - 18, 2010.  It was precisely during this period that most of Europe's air travel was halted as a result of dangerous sky conditions.

Disruptive acts of nature were specified in the April 19 predictions, which were written before that date.  Indeed, it was precisely a disruptive act of nature which caused the interruption of normal transportation procedures.  Several other recent weekly predictions have discussed the likelihood of telluric eruptions for the period of late April 2010.

Specifically, our most recent predictions showed that the period of April 19 - 21 promised glitches in travel and communication.  That's exactly the time when millions of travelers suddenly found their previous plans disrupted, with telephone lines jammed and hotels suddenly booked to overflowing.

Predictions for general conditions are available every week from Astrologer White Owl.  Readers who check this area of our site will always have the benefit of a heads up on important trends.

Today, April 22nd, 2010, we celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. What is Earth Day? A day designated world wide to honor Mother Earth, and do what we can to nurture and sustain her. This year, as in the past, work is being done at the community level to raise awareness of green issues and to make a difference in the local environment.

It is the small things that count on this day. For every person that goes to see Disneynature’s new film “Oceans” during its opening week a donation will be made to The Nature Conservancy. Through the auspices of the Nature Conservancy, individuals aer being given an opportunity to adopt a coral reef in the Bahamas to help fund ongoing work to help protect these ocean ecosystems.

The Rainforest Site offers a quick way to make a difference daily in preserving the rainforests. The Environmental Protection Agency is urging Americans to commit to five ways to green (plant a tree, recycle, compost – any five actions that we can take to green our environment).

For those that cannot get out to take an action to commit to greening, AARP has a listing entitled “Five Minute Ways To Go Green” at www.createthegood.org/gogreen. IPhone and FaceBook have an app where individuals can make a pledge to improve the environment entitled “Billion Acres of Green”. Go to www.apps.facebook.com/earthdaynetwork/.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce lists 70 examples of business partners that are engaging in environmental stewardship at www.uschamber.com/bclc/earthday.htm.

Would you like to help within your own community? Check you newspaper, the local news, or your local library. Any one of these avenues will know what is being planned, and where help is needed. Or,... Read More

Many of the clients that I talk to on this line are making very progressive moves in their lives. This is a very exciting time for all of us – to make best use of the number three energy of 2010, so set the foundation for many years to come. I recently came across an article on hosting your own Podcast Internet Radio Show. This may not appeal to everybody, but it will, I think, to a significant portion of the visitors to this site.

It is one thing to be a guest on an Internet Podacst – this is an excellent way to get whatever you are offering out there, to gain the attention of potential customers. Hosting a Podcast allows you to get your own ideas out there, and to share with your audience the ideas of like minded people.

Setting up the shows is very easy – it is what is called a conference bridge, where the host and the person being interviewed call in to the show. One of my favorite Tarot Podcasts had one host in Canada, the other in Vermont, and the callers from all over creation! It was exciting, informative, and a great promotional and teaching tool.

Also, Podcasts are generally archived on the host site, so that listeners who are not able to hear the show live can go back and listen at a later date. The host can record the program, and then go back in and edit out background noises with programs such as Audio Acrobat. It really doesn’t take a degree in technology to record, edit and post a Podcast.

The process of creating a show for Podcasting would be the same as creating any other type of show. Choose a title that represents what you are presenting, and that will draw in an audience. The next step is to find guests that offer something positive in the area that defines the show. You will not retain listeners if your title says one thing, and your guests are talking about something completely different!

Enjoy yourself, enjoy your show, make your guests feel comfortable,... Read More

There was an article in the “Personal Journal” section of the Wall Street Journal this morning. The headline read “New Muse: The CEO”. The sub-title talked about designers such as Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and others embracing the pantsuit and “Matchy-Matchy” style for women. Now, none of these incredible designers are hanging in my closet (yet), but what we see from the major designers does drift down into “real time”.

I am an old school Capricorn who abhors “business casual”. Business is business, people! Dress accordingly! So I am more than thrilled to see well done pants suits for women making a comeback. Hand out some bonuses to these boys (and girls!)!

BTW - I did some checking – my favorite designer, Georgio Armani – has some very nice jackets, slacks and skirts that fit this category.

The new look, according to this article, and looking at the pics, is comfortable, strong and “far from body revealing” (read conservative). No shoulder pads (although I kind of liked that look!), the jackets are long, and the pants are (relatively) wide legged. These cloths are definitely wearable!

As I said – the designer version is not in my closet yet, but a more “medium priced” version certainly will be! Time to ramp things back up a bit!

I drew one card from the Tarot to see what... Read More

I just read a very interesting article on the interaction between a performance artist (actually, three performance artists), the museum they were performing at, and the audience. The full article can be seen here – http://culture.wnyc.org/articles/performance-club/2010/mar/02/ps1-responds-censorship-claims/.

It seems that the museum (P.S.I.) cut the power towards the end of performance artist Ann Liv Young's performance – citing safety considerations. The issue here seems to be that there were no safety considerations, at least as far as the audience was concerned. Young herself received deep gashes to her legs from a glass that someone had broken before her performance, but this was the only casualty.

In fact, the whole thing was to the benefit of the performer that followed, Morty Diamond. The lights were still off, but the audience would not leave. They stayed rooted to their spots, and lit his performance with their cell phones. How good does it get!

It seems there may have been an issue with Young questioning the work of the previous performer, Georgia Sagri. However, this was done under the guise of her character … in other words, as part of the show.

This is performance art, which is understood to be edgy at the... Read More
