This week contains a high point of spiritual power well worth noting. It’s a doubly whammy of an interesting sort, composed of the near simultaneous occurrence of Full Moon and the Capricorn Solstice. The exact Full Moon moment takes place at 5:13 am EST on Tuesday, December 21, and then is followed closely by the Capricorn Solstice at 6:39 pm EST the same day. As regular readers of this advisory know, any Pull Moon brings with it revelation and insight. This one will surely do that, but with added depth, for only a few hours later, the Capricorn Solstice will bring its power to bear as well, opening the gates of consciousness to higher dimensions. Destiny is likely to speak this day to each person in her or his own place, in some fashion unique to the individual situation. Meaningful guidance will be available for the price of having an open mind.

Monday
. The week starts off with disruptions in both the local and world environments, as retrograde Mercury makes an exact square to Uranus on Monday night. The general effect of retro Mercury suffices to make for departures front the norm all on its own, but when also interacting by 90 degree arc with Uranus and all the surprises and divergences for which that archetype is known, anything goes. And that’s the problem. Usual constraints and customary ways of doing things will be cast aside this day in favor of anything that suddenly looks more appealing, modern, interesting, or faster of accomplishment. Rush and hurry are sure to be major culprits this day, so for those who want to avoid undue annoyance, taking it one step at a time will surely help. All the same, the general environment will be pervaded with changes in routine and even sudden reversals of belief or attitude. Religious doctrines are likely to be a serious matter of contention, for retrograde Mercury will be in philosophical Sagittarius and Uranus in mystical Pisces essentially fighting with one another via the square relationship. The question of individual freedom will grip the minds of many, and rebellion against theologies which advocate submission is likely to emerge as a news item. Precipitous action to secure individual autonomy is likely in many places. The entire day is one of agitation and frazzled nerves, but especially is this so from 10 pm — 11pm EST, so allow others space during that period.

Tuesday
arrives with spiritual drama ready to unfold. During the night, Mercury (still retrograde) moves into a precise 60 degree relationship with Neptune, promoting spiritual perception and all forms of intuitive knowing. Also during sleep time the exact opposition of Sun and Moon brings Full Moon. Dream time is therefore sure to contain much important imagery this night, with answers to life’s questions sent up by the subconscious. The remainder of the day these themes will work out into manifested actions, especially from noon through midnight. Events and feelings promise to be intensely focused around career and financial ambitions, as well as other major obligations and life intentions. No chitchat here. It’s all serious seriousness aimed at goals and commitments.

Wednesday
settles into relative quiet, with very much less happening, but lots on which to mull. The Moon is in Cancer, causing just that — the tendency to look back and ruminate on the past. This is good for slowly digesting the import of yesterday’s major revelations. The Cancerian Moon also brings a focus on family and home, themes strongly bound up with the December holidays for many Americans.

Thursday and Friday
settle down even farther into a restful quiet, providing quite a contrast to the major developments of Tuesday. Relative peace will be a welcome visitor just in time for holiday events. For the weekend and the Christian feast of Christmas, the main influence brings attention one more time this month back to the powers of Capricorn. This is the sign of the ambitious and persistent goat usually shown plodding up a steep mountainous slope, he who finally surmounts all the rocky obstacles in its path. As anyone can see, this shaggy goat is not exactly a party animal. He’s more of a worker, a planner, maybe even a Father Time sort of guy, always aware of necessities and realities. His shadow falls over Christmas every year, for December 25 always happens in early Capricorn. And this year the Capricornian shadow is even deeper, for the Sun in Capricorn conjoins Pluto in that sign on December 26, doubling the effect. The exact conjunction occurs at 8:03 pm Sunday, but this being a relatively strong influence, it will affect several days before and after.

Saturday and Sunday
will be much conditioned by the Sun- Pluto combination of energies, plus that of the sign in which it occurs. Taken all together, this three part astrological influence suggests that our attention will be drawn yet again to our major life responsibilities, however we each understand them, and our commitments to whatever we identify as the principles fundamentally structuring our lives. This is a big contemplation, as anyone can see, and yes, it comes as the calendar year draws to a close — always a time of reckoning. It’s not exactly a party-mode energy, but it is one that supports respect for basic values.
