I had the same dream, with the same people, same animal, but in differnt places. I would be someplace with my children and a very large bear was trying to get to us. Then we ran, holding my kids by the hand pulling them along. No matter where we hid it would find us. No matter what we hid in, it would break though and we would start running again. It never caught us but I would wake up still feeling the same unbelievable fear I felt in the dream as if were real. After my divorce I stopped having that dream. I took it as the bear representing my husband even though he was never violent.

You were being chased by your fear which you had to face. Maybe it was the divorce or something to do with the divorce. Once you brought closure to it, the dream went away.
