Boats on Water

This dream is similar to the other post "submerged" in that it relates to water, but is a bit different. In my dream, I am on a large cruise boat on vacation -- I believe with my young daughter. It seems like it is some sort of self improvement themed voyage, because I have purchased several books there. However, for some of the books I realize I already own them, and am wondering if the authors will allow me to exchange them for something I haven't read. The next thing I know, I have received a message from someone who works on the ship. It turns out that a guy has come into my room while I am not there, and placed messages in the form of different words ripped out of newspapers or books. I have no idea what the message was though!

There is actually a second part to this dream. Our destination on the ship is to the city where I grew up. I am excited to take my daughter on a cruise around the bay that I used to go on as a kid. (This is a smaller boat). As we are on our way to the boat, we pass by the building where my grandfather used to have a store and I still have ties to this building. However, the thing I feel that jumps out of the dream is that I am being shown that the bathing suit store across the street from my grandfather's store is now hugely successful -- so much so they have doubled in size and are very busy. (I really don't know if this store still even exists as I now live 3,000 miles away.) Then, we are off to go on the bay cruise and that is it. The weird thing is, I now recall another dream I had (possibly even a few years ago) that also showed me a very successful business in this same retail space. Yes....this is a very long and involved dream!!!

Delphine - What a wonderful dream, and how great that you remember so much of it! The books in this dream, I feel, are remresentative of wisdom. The cruise is literally your "cruise", or journey, through life. The books that you buy, and then realize that you already have, represent wisdom that you already carry, and need to look no further for. The message from "someone who works on the ship" - this is from one or more of your guides. :)

Delphine - How interesting that this dream takes you back to your roots - to where you grew up. This is where your wisdm came from. :) Just a quick thought - by turning from your grandfather's store to look at the one across the street, and seeing that it is hugely successful, seesm to be saying that in your life you have to move past your original foundation of beliefs and try new things, ew ideas. This is where your personal growth will be. In the dream, I am wondering if the little girl with you is not only your daughter, but your own "inner child". My feeling is that you are being told that you are holdng yourself back in some manner. Open your wings and fly! :)

Thank you Lilith for your reply. Your analysis is correct -- I am holding myself back. This seems to be my theme, although I am working on it!!! It is so interesting, as I had another dream with my daughter on a boat. This time it was a casual acquaintance inviting my young daughter to go on a voyage with this other family. I was concerned about letting my daughter go because I was feeling unsure of the life vests they had (symbolism?) but ultimately decided she would be safe. I knew it was going to be a great experience for her and wanted her to go.

Delphine - I believe that your daughter in the second dream was also your inner child. You are ab out to embark on an a new path, and your inner child is concerned for their safety. I see this as the normal process of moving forward in life. :)

I really do not often remember my dreams, however, I have another dream about a ship on water! It is again a cruise ship, but this time it is massive and I am outside on the very front deck of the ship. The thing that is most memorable, is that the ocean is gigantic beyond imagination. The seas are not rough, but it is almost like the scale of the ocean is much larger than in real life. The ship is massive as well -- and it travels through the ocean with an incredible force. Not much happens in the dream, other than I am in awe of how massive everything is, and a bit nervous of what is to come as everything is huge. I have volunteered to stay near the front deck to be a part of the "steering".

Delphine - The ship represents you. :) It is your physical presence in life. The waters came through to me as your unconscious self, your intuitive core. That everythign is so massive means that you have had an inner "break through", and aer getting ready to "live large". With you at the helm, you ae totally in charge of your future! How great is this! :) Blessings, Bonnie

( "someone who works on the ship" - this is from one or more of your guides.) In reference to this statement it may be more literal. I think someone will be in touch in the same business and will help you with it. Not a guide but a physical person that will try to contact you. Also the child could represent 'your inner child' but also it could represent the business which you care for It is small and your nurturing it (as we raise children) The ship is representing your going somewhere with it and the water which a ship floats also represents emotions. The ship was not sinking, the child was not in trouble, the waters were not in a storm...see what ever the representation, it is exstreemly promising. Hope that makes sense.
