I am not a gamer by any means - too old to have the quickness for that! - but I have been following the development of an interactive game from Big Finish Games (http://www.bigfinishgames.com/) called Three Cards To Midnight.
It is a mystery, with the main character a young woman whose last memory is meeting her boyfriend for dinner on the eve of her thirtieth birthday. The next morning she is set to fly to Florida to join her parents on her father's yacht to celebrate her birthday.
Key in sppoky music - all of a sudden things do not feel "natural". Suddenly she finds herself in a room, with a man she has never seen before, and he is telling her that something has happened to her memory, and that she has blocked out days ... or even weeks ... since her birthday.
He says that he is there to help her, and so ... he brings out the Tarot cards! He asks her to choose one card and focus on it - and that this card will take her into the past, and she will regain her memory.
There are some very cool screenshots from the game up on the site, as well as two trailers - one from 2008, and one from 2009. The game becomes available for purchase on May 6th, 2009.
As I said, I am not a gamer - but I have to have this game! ;-) I love Tarot, and cannot wait to see how the design team has integrated the cards into the story.
Check out the site, and see what you think. It goes from 1940'ish to very modern, with floating Tarot cards and more. The voice-overs are very well done, and there are, I believe, three skill levels involved.
Enjoy!
