The Mentalist Recap – Season 2, Episode 9 – A Price Above Rubies – air date 12/10/09. In this episode Jane and the CBI team investigate the murder of a wealthy jeweler during a jewelry heist at a charity event. I loved the opening scene – a large ballroom, people dressed to the nines, and Jane acting as MC!

All is not as it seems (in Jane’s world, all is never as it seems!). The person who seems to be number one for having committed the crime is found dead, and the family members surrounding the wealthy charity patroness (husband and nephews) … well, they all have their own quirks!

Great sparks between Lisbon and Jane, and some gentle nuances between Rigsby and Van Pelt.
