The other day I was scrolling through the comments that our clients have left for the readers and advisors at this network.  I had to chuckle a little as I remembered my days of classroom teaching and how today students can give a similar report card to their professors over the internet.  I also remember the times when my siblings and I have swapped stories of our childhood.  Each one of us remembers something different about the same events and the same parents.  Each one of us has formed an opinion about a teacher, advisor or our parent’s effectiveness in our lives based on what we saw at that time and how it made us feel. Those who found it harder to accept what teachers and parents told them is the truth are also less likely to accept such from their peers later in life.

If we as advisors and teachers were to give up or give in each time someone offers a negative opinion of what we have shared with them then we would not be here.  Sometimes people are open to learning, sometimes not.  If one is given truth to share as a gift then it comes with a mandate to share that truth as it is.  Sometimes no matter how much one sugar coats or gift wraps the gift of truth that someone has requested they just simply aren’t going to like what they unwrap. 

Just think if someone tells you that you  are about ready to go through a very challenging time in your life you probably are less likely to want to hear it than if someone tells you that you are about to win the lottery.  In the end the truth is the truth.  If you ask for it then accept it. 

We will attempt to answer your questions with as much grace as possible and hope that you will accept what you have asked to receive with similar grace.  In the end it is up to the recipient to decide what they wish to do with their gift.
