Lilith’s World – Winter Solstice

“I honor the Winter Solstice as a time to reflect, and a time to connect with family and friends.”

Welcome to Lilith’s world. On December 21st we celebrate the Winter Solstice. Marking the beginning of winter, and the shortest day (and longest night!) of the year, the Winter Solstice ushers in a time of quiet and reflection. It is a time to surround oneself with family and friends, and celebrate the connection that we have with all of our relations.

On December 27th we have the New Moon in Capricorn. New Moon’s are connected with beginnings, with increased energy and new possibilities. In the sign of Capricorn, we are looking at energy that is focused on the here and now, on the mundane in life.  What projects are you looking to put into motion? Are you looking to make a career move? Are you looking to expand a project that you are already involved in – to give it new life? Are you looking at redecorating your home? Are you looking at making a physical move? What beginnings are you looking for in your life? What actions can you take to set your intent and get off to a really good start?

We have the energies of two very strong entities to work with this week – those of the Winter Solstice, and those of the New Moon. We can choose to work only with one or the other, or we can choose to work with them both. We can set separate intentions, or we can set the same intention in different ways. Anyone can work with these energies – they are natural (as in being based in nature), and can be honored in any way that we choose.

The first thing that we need to do is look at our lives, and see what we want to set new seeds for, what we want to keep, what we want to grow, and what we want to release. We can choose to work with this energy on an individual basis, we can work with a group, or we can simply throw a party, and allow that celebration set our intent.

Taking the time to do a small meditation, perhaps using a candle as focus, will set the tone. When you are ready, take a piece of paper and a pen and write out your intentions for the solstice (or new moon). Place the paper between your hands, and see in your mind the final outcome that you are working towards. Listen to the wisdom that comes to you. When you are ready, light the paper from the flame of the candle, and place it in a fire-retardant container to burn. (Glass containers may crack and send glass flying – please do not use them. If the container that you are using is metal, be aware that the metal will get hot.) Do not leave either your candle or your paper burning if you have to leave the room. Move the container that you burned the paper in to a safe place, so that someone does not come along, pick it up, an get burned.)

Taking the time to do these small things will bring a great sense of empowerment into your life. Our readers are here 24/7 to help answer your questions, to give you tools of empowerment (such as meditation and working with the energy of the moon), and to put you in control of your own life.

Each week, we are going to hear from the voice of one of our oracle allies. This week we are going to visit a faerie oracle. The voice that came to me was that of Dolphin – a fairy member of the water world. Dolphin is well known for its compassionate, healing nature. “In this Winter Solstice, in this cycle of birth/death/rebirth, walk with me. Fill your heart with love for mankind – unconditional love. Allow this holiday season to be a true season of caring for all of Mother Earth’s inhabitants.”

Next week we will be discussing the New Year, and the energies that it brings us.

Wishing you a week filled with hopes and dreams, joy and peace!

Best Wishes,
Lilith
