Lilith's World - Personal Empowerment: Sowing the Seeds of Spring

“The seeds that I plant in my life this spring grow and prosper as I focus my attention on them.”

It is very important to know where you are both in the cycle of your own life, and in the cycle of nature. This week we are going to be talking about the cycle of spring, which is one of fertility and planting the seeds of change in your life for the coming year.

Before we can even think about what seeds we want to plant to set a solid foundation for the coming year, we need to look back to the previous year. What projects need to be brought to fruition? What projects no longer serve us well, and need to be released? What projects need to be fine tuned so that they fit into our life as a whole? All of this is in effect a form of personal “spring cleaning”, or de-cluttering (if you are into feng shui). One note on the de-cluttering – hands off my books and decks!

Once the personal “spring cleaning” has been done, we need to take a look at our life purpose. If you have not yet defined your life purpose, now is the time to do so. Everything that we do in life – all of our decisions, all of our actions – need to be supportive of our life purpose. If you would like some help defining your life purpose,  our readers are here 24/7 to head you in the right direction.

So, you have fine tuned the energy carried over from 2008, and you have defined (or re-defined) your life’s purpose. Now you want to break your life down into workable segments – each individual will do this a little differently. For me, they are finances, career, relationships, home, health, spirituality and self (how I nurture my self). There really is no priority here – priorities change as life “happens”. Learning to flow with life is the best gift that we can give ourselves.

Take out a piece of paper for each category (either loose paper, a notebook or a journal of some type, or, more my style, create a electronic file). At the top of the paper write the category, and the year. Under that write your life purpose. List the goals that you wish to accomplish, any current “sticking points”, and any current obstacles. For each of these sub-categories list small, incremental actions that you can take to accomplish your goals and resolve your “sticking points” and obstacles. Refer frequently to your life purpose, so that each category stays on track to support that purpose. Keep in mind that when we help others achieve their goals, they are more receptive to helping us achieve ours. Don’t attempt to do all of this in one setting, or even one day. Take your time. The goals that you set, the seeds that you plant will act as the foundation for the upcoming year.

You can take your life wherever you want to. Make your life purpose the center of your life, around which revolves the nitty gritty of everyday living. This is your authentic life!
Each week, we are going to hear from the voice of one of our oracle allies. This week we are visiting the I Ching cards. We are speaking with Number 62 Hsiao Kuo (Small Excesses). Hsiao Kuo would like us to know that progress is indicated this spring. To attain our goals, we need to move in small steps. We need to take the time to be sure that the actions we are taking are the correct ones before we take them. Our success should not be another person’s loss.

On April 9th we have a Full Moon in Libra. The Full Moon is a time when projects are brought together, and it can also be a time to release that which is no longer working well for you. I also use the energy of the Full Moon to begin projects (something normally thought of as a New Moon activity), simply because the moon is at its strongest. A Libra Full Moon focuses on relationships of all types. It is a time for fresh starts, as well as reenergizing current relationships. It is time to go for what you want in relationship, but you also want to be sure that there is a sense of balance. This is an exciting time that can move you forward in many ways.

In my travels I came across a DVD from Sony pictures that looks interesting. It is from 2007, and is available on Amazon.com. “Sarah Landon and the Paranormal Hour” stars Rissa Walters as a seventeen year old girl who is visiting the grandmother of one of her friends who is recently deceased. She ends up staying in the guest house – which seems to be haunted! – and becomes involved in the town’s dark secret along with two brothers, the local psychic and an evil spirit. The bottom line – what happens between midnight and one a.m.? This DVD is aimed at the teen audience. I have not seen the DVD yet, but it certainly sounds interesting, and I do plan to purchase it.

One last note for this week – I thought that it might be fun to list a couple of books that are focused on self-empowerment. The first book is “The Purpose-driven Life”, by Richard Warren. This is a Christian oriented book focused on connecting with the Divine presence in life. The second book that caught my eye was “Real Magic – Creating Miracles In Life” by Wayne Dwyer. Dwyer’s focus is in helping his readers to achieve a higher level of consciousness in their everyday life. The third book that caught my eye was “Stand Up For Your Life”, by Cheryl Richardson. The focus in this book is on transforming fear and self-doubt into personal power.

Next week we will be taking a look at how we can nurture the seeds that we planted for this spring.

May your week be filled with joy and peace.

Best Wishes,
Lilith
