On December 2^nd we have the Full Moon in Gemini. This is one of two Full Moon’s for December – there is a Blue Moon on December 31^st (New Year’s Eve). Look for an enormous amount of energy with Gemini, and quite a bit of changeability. As Gemini rules communications, this is an area that will need to be pai close attention to this month.

Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is in a square to Uranus, the planet of change and radical thinking. Be aware of a trend towards impulsive thought, speech and action during this Full Moon! This is also a time to be careful of equipment failure, and to watch out for accidents.

One thing that we need to be aware of is that the Gemini Full Moon is an excellent time to access our creative nature, to look at things from a new perspective, and to make significant lifestyle changes. This can also be a time for short journeys.

November of 2009 contains an important astrological influence, the Saturn-Pluto square. This arrangement occurs approximately once every 14 years, and so is somewhat unusual. It's not the only powerful astrological influence acting upon individuals and society at this time, but it is an important one.

This influence tends to create situations in which difficult determinations must be made. The power of sober judgment is much called into play, and decisions must be made about basic matters.

At the same time, this influence calls us all to draw boundaries that will define our lives. This is not an easy-going influence. Instead, it tends to force us to contend with thorny issues and come to some kind of definite conclusion. We seek closure and something definite under this influence, and are not satisfied with drifting or being uncertain.

However, none of this happens under entirely comfortable conditions. Delay, isolation, distrust, and a general sense of resistance also tend to be present under the influence of Saturn and Pluto, both of which are known as archetypes or symbols of difficulties. Many may be feeling thwarted in their efforts while these two combine powers. This is not permanent, but it is potent, so this means that mid November 2009 may be an emotionally rocky passage for some, or a time fraught with worries or even despondency.

The good thing about this influence is that it does stimulate drive and ambition, and so can be turned to good use in career and work. Really the only approach which will succeed under this combination is patience combined with a steady determination. Anyone who finds one way blocked may be able to make headway in another, if persistent and realistic efforts are made. Practicality takes precedence over romanticism at this time.

On Monday, November 16^th, we see new moon in Scorpio. We are being asked to expand our perceptions and deepen our understanding of our life experience. A sense of getting to the truth certainly is taking shape here, leading to a healing of our emotional selves. In a way, this new moon can be termed a “dark night of the soul”. Here we face our inner demons, so that we can conquer them and heal.

We will be dealing with old emotional wounds – wounds that have not healed. New Moons are time for new beginnings. To heal our emotional wounds, we need to acknowledge them, and then to own our own power to heal.

What are you facing on this new moon? What do you need to release? What do you need to bring in? Own your own power!

On November 2^nd we have a Full Moon in Taurus. At this time, we are reminded to look at what is worth hanging onto in our lives, as well as at what we need to release. We need to pay close attention to any negotiations or mediations that we are involved in. This is not a time to be guarded – be open with other parties (as well as with yourself), and “play fair”.

Mars in Leo – Mars completes the cycle of the Zodiac every two years. It entered Leo on October 16^th, 2009 and will remain there until June 7^th, 2010. (The cycle is extended because it is considered a retrograde cycle.) Mars symbolizes bravery, aggression, ambition … a risk taker that gets its adrenalin going easily! Leo is a fire sign – very passionate, very quick to act (sometimes without thinking things through). Mars in Leo – quite the volatile combination! Mars gets to be even more aggressive than usual!

Look for Mars to stimulate personal ambition, the need for recognition and the need for power. Those most affected will be Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Taurus, with some Aries people feeling the touch.

On July 9^th Jupiter and Neptune meet for the second of three conjunctions for 2009 (the first one was May 27^th, the third one will be December 21^st). Neptune is the planet of emotions, imagination and spirituality, while Jupiter is the planet of vision and hope. Count on July 10^th being a day when the dreamy feeling that Neptune brings will dominate. We are in luck, however, in that the influence of Jupiter brings an understanding that those dreams can come true!

This is a day when you will need to take care to be thoroughly grounded and centered. Take the time when you first wake up to do a small meditation in which you see your roots flowing through your feet and into mother earth. Feel that connection deeply. Try to stay away from caffeinated drinks (such as coffee or soft drinks), as they will take your energy to too high a level, which will not be helpful in staying grounded.

The Neptune/Jupiter conjunction is definitely a theme for this year. One of the issues is that it may trigger romantic and relationship hot spots in natal charts. Issues relating to trust and forgiveness may be coming up in close relationships. In fact, the need for a close relationship will become much more important this year.

The spiritual nature of Neptune, combined with the idealism of Jupiter, can lead us to expectations that are not grounded in reality. We may be too giving in our relationships, while attaching unrealistic expectations to the outcome. It is a time when we need to be aware of imbalances within our relationships, and to not allow ourselves to be overwhelmed by them.

Unconditional love – of ourselves, and of others in our life, will be an issue. In any new relationships, we may want to remind ourselves to see he person as they really are, and not as we may want them to be.
