Psychic Power

What power does music have in your life? Music is a very powerful force for healing, for connecting us to our heart-self, and for accessing our creative selves. Music carries the power of transformation. Whether you listen to music, or play music yourself, you will benefit from its presence.

Music speaks to our soul – it touches our soul. Music increases our quality of life – which is of immense value not only on a day to day basis, but in cases where someone is hospitalized, or facing a long term illness. It raises their spirits, gives them focus, and allows them to experience joy.

In everyday life, we can play music while we work, while we clean house, while we meditate, while we are relaxing. Find the music that works for you – and play it! If you are a parent with very active children, try playing soothing music to get them to slow down so that you can catch your breath!

Another benefit to music – slow or fast – you can dance to it! Enjoy your music, increase your health, and your quality of life!

Congress just passed the Health Care Bill. This is a momentous occasion, but only the first step in the process. Next it goes to the Senate, then it comes back to Congress. I drew three cards to tell the story of what the initial passing of this legislation means to us.

Ten of Cups Ten of Swords The Empress

I think that we are all relieved that we are past the first stages of this legislation. The Ten of Cups talks about the US people as a family, celebrating and happy. They are supportive of each other.

In the near future looms the specter of moving he legislation through the Senate – through huge egos and multiple agenda’s. Communication will will not be easy here.

The overall feeling about this legislation is that it is something that we as a country want to nurture. We want to take care of our own, and we want it done in a timely, balanced manner.

My impression – we have a solid base for continued work on this legislation. What is your take?

We have are moving into the second week of November already! Where has time gone! Halloween has been cleared away, and Thanksgiving is on its way in just a couple of weeks. The weather is definitely changing, and we really do have to start thinking about Christmas.

I know – I am one of those that does not start the Christmas story until Thanksgiving has been given its due. However, many of us have friends or family overseas, so we do have to think of getting presents ready to go (whatever religion we are), and then getting them mailed in time. Keeping one step ahead of reality, as it were.

Where are you in the cycle of life this November? Are you bringing your year to a close? Are you enjoying the fall colors? Are you anxious over Thanksgiving family reunions? Are you already stressed over Christmas preparations?

Step back, take a deep breath, nurture yourself. Make the memories ones worth remembering!

This week we will be experiencing 11/11/11 – November 11th, 2009. The number 11 is a Master number, carrying the qualities of spirituality, vision, intuition and refinement of ideals. Here we find male and female energies n balance. Repetition of that number has to mean something - but what would that “something” be?

The recurrence of the number 11 – such as in 11/11/11 – is helping accelerate our consciousness towards the 2012 time period. Because of its visionary/intuitive qualities, this 11/11/11 time period is also one in which we are easily connected to our unconscious minds, allowing wisdom to come through.

My belief is that 11/11/11 will be a day of finding ourselves gaining clarity of thought, balance and healing. Be as open as you can, and welcome these changes.

Remember – we are here 24/7 to help you integrate this information into your life.

What a lovely month October was – and what a great Halloween we had here! Now I am looking forward to Thanksgiving – not trying to rush the year, just looking forward to it. I find that I enjoy the planning of an event almost as much as the event itself.

I am already thinking about what to cook for dinner, and looking forward to spending time with family. Hopefully an NBA (basketball) game or two will be on. If not, we will sit and chat, catching up on things.

What are your holiday traditions? Have they gone by the wayside a bit? Perhaps this is the year to bring them back. J

“Paranormal Activity” is a new movie out from Paramount Pictures – a hauntingly good new movie that I think I need to see! A young couple moves into what they think is a typical suburban “starter” tract house. So far, so good.

Oops – noises in the middle of the night! Harmless … or?

This movie has been rated “R” for language. Video trailers and TV spot can be seen here.

The Mentalist - Season 1, Episode 20 – Red Sauce – air date 10/22/09.
In this episode Jane and the CBI investigate the mob-style execution of a man in the witness protection program. It all starts out in an arcade where the victim worked – and sold marijuana to the kids that hung out there. (BTW – Jane is not bad at all with the games!)

We find that the mob can be reached – through the game of golf – and that not all law enforcement officers are what they seem to be.

Is it possible to leave a life behind? If you are able to leave the life behind, can you leave yourself behind?

Great episode – and Lisbon gets a pony for her birthday!

Just in time for the spookiest month of the year, the “Myths & Magic” exhibition by Betty Dolman and Rudy Ellis is being featured at the Goddard Centre in Ardmore Oklahoma.

Ms. Dolman’s exhibit, "A Few Myths,"  is an edition of ten handmade, accordion-style books based on Greek Mythology.
The books are influenced by the horizontal scrolls and folding screens of traditional Japanese art. Each of the book’s etchings and calligraphy are hand-done and original, taking her more than a year to complete.

Mr. Ellis’ exhibit is entitled “The Black Tarot." This is as series of mixed media pieces based on the Tarot. The Tarot acts as a “jumping off place” for visual creativity – being illustrations that use the Tarot as their primary source of inspiration, rather than being illustrative of the Tarot.

I love everything about fall – the cooler weather, the changing colors, warm sweaters and hot cocoa! I love the shortened days, and the longer nights. Even more than winter, fall is a time of reflection for me. I look back to summer, and all of the projects that I had going. Did the seeds of spring come to life? Did they find purpose, and direction? What do I need to do now to bring them to a close?

This is a time of year when I bring things together, tie them up nicely, and put them in their place. That which needs finishing I either finish or release (if it is no longer serving me well). I look at where I am focusing my attention, and whether this is in alignment with my purpose and my path in this lifetime.

I look forward to cooking and baking, to spending time reading, and generally creating a little cocoon around myself.

What is fall for you? Where is your attention? Where in the cycle of the year are you?

Lisa Williams is a very gifted medium and clairvoyant. On her site, http://www.lisawilliams.com/, she does something very unique – she posts “Messages From The Beyond”. A section where each month she leaves channeled messages for individuals by first name only, with the message and an indication of who the message came from.

There is also a listing of her scheduled shows and appearances (and what to expect at a show), a personal blog, and another truly unique offering – distant healing. Once a week Lisa devotes an hour to distant healing for those who ask for it, through the use of Reiki and Crystals.

I recently came across a new game of interest – entitled “Transformation Game”, it is published by Innerlinks. Developed at the Findhorn Institute in Scotland, it is for 2-4 players, ages 16 to adult. It is a game of self discovery, and discovery about others. Using the cards of Angel, Life Insight, Life Setback, and Awareness, it allows each player to follow their own “life path” on the board. In a very realistic manner, each player is affected by the energy of the other players. Each player chooses a personal focus before the game begins, and this is the area that his/her answers relate to.

It is almost Halloween, and there are some very cool things going on! Shadybrook Farm, in Yardley, PA is holding a Pumpkin Fest. It will continue from September 26th, 2009 to October 31st, 2009, and will include hayrides, pick your own pumpkin, a giant corn maze and more. For more information, click here.

There is a haunted corn maze in Knoxville, TN (http://www.oakesfarm.com/), with a portion of the proceeds going to the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.

There is a Haunted Corn Maze open every weekend night in October in Grant, Nebraska (http://www.cornstalkonline.com/). At the same location is Haunted Barnyard, a Haunted Village, and Trees of Terror ( a haunted forest).

It is well worth checking out what is near you! Perhaps you might even want to volunteer to keep an attraction open. Good fun for all ages!

Did you know that psychic James Van Praagh is an advisor to Jennifer Love Hewitt on “Ghost Whisperer”? Unfortunately, one of the things that he had to advise her about was that her on and off relationship with Scottish star Ross McCall was not meant to be.

Did you also know that Allison DuBois (the psychic that the hit TV show “Medium” is based on) gives seminars? The next stop on her 2009 “Till We Meet Again Tour” will be on 10/17/09, in Orlando, FL, where she will be giving a two hour seminar. I just came across a wonderful video on You Tube, presented by our friends at Hay House. They have a new online catalog devoted to iPhone and iPod apps (applications), including card decks, calendars, and instructional material. A sampling of apps includes “Cat Comfort Cards”, “10 Secrets For Success and Inner Peace Cards”, and “Zen Cards”.

Now that summer is over, we can feel a bit more “ready” to start hunting through the stores for Halloween decorations, costumes, and candy. I like to see what they have out each year for costumes – and wonder if many mothers still make their children’s costumes, as my mother did.

I have a little decorative Goose in my living room, dressed for the season. In October she becomes a witch, and happily watches over the room. (Truth be told – I already put her in costume! I couldn’t wait!) I also put out a big stuffed pumpkin, Halloween candles, stuffed straw people, a ceramic pumpkin and a carved pumpkin (which I don’t carve until October 30th).

Somewhere along the line, a decorative bowl of miniature chocolate bars gets put out, for guests and for trick-or-treaters on Halloween itself. (I always put out the kind of candy that I would have wanted to have were I still trick-or-treating.)

What do you do for Halloween? It is a joyous holiday – honor it in your own way!

It is interesting to see how the (psychic) ability to see into the future blends itself into many different people’s lives. I just read quite an interesting article on Shari Arison, reportedly the wealthiest woman in Israel. She claims to have foreseen the financial crisis in a very interesting way. For several years now she has been receiving messages, messages that she believes are spiritual communications. She sees things before they happen. She feels that she has been granted this gift not in order to make a lot of money buying and selling stocks, but in order to bring the world to another place.

Her messages bring hope – that salvation is near, and that there will be good afterwards. I find this woman, and her message, to be very profound.

The Full Moon for October appears October 4th, in the sign of Aries. Its Native American name is Harvest Moon. This is a time to take decisive steps towards goals that were set during the September New Moon in Virgo. There is a focus here on health, and on changes that we are choosing to make in our daily routine (as opposed to changed that are thrust upon us).

Aries has a tendency to not want to remember lessons learned. We have to watch ourselves so that we remember the trials that we have been through, so that we do not repeat them. We are blessed with Saturn in Virgo, which helps us to organize things, and release that which is no longer serving us well.

This is a good time to stop, take stock of where you are, where you want to be, and how you hope to get there. We are heading for the downtime of fall and winter, where we rest and plan for the new year.

What are you bringing to a close? What are you releasing? How is your direction changing? Remember – you are the director of your own life.

We are coming into October, and the season of ghosts, goblins, witches, and scary stories. My favorite story from this season is Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, about Ichabod Crane and the headless horseman. The story in its entirety can be seen here - http://tinyurl.com/ybarsvk. Enjoy!

Psychokinesis, also known as telekinesis, is quite an interesting little corner of the world of psychic ability. Psychokinesis has to do with moving objects using only the power of the mind. This can be done with objects that are in the same room, or objects that are at a distance.

This ability became very popular in the late 1800’s, with the advent of the Spiritualism movement. This ability was often demonstrated during séances, when objects would move, or even fly through the air on their own, often as a demonstration that a specific entity had been contacted. Another aspect of psychokinesis during a séance was the table itself moving or tilting. As you can see, some of this would have been very questionable!

One of the better known names that worked to expose fraudulent psychics was the magician Houdini. He wrote a book about this entitled “Miracle Mongers and Their Methods”. Another investigator was J. B. Rhine, a researcher at Duke University. His aim was to se whether people could affect the outcome of random events through the use of their mind.

Using the tossing of dice, Rhine was able to show that random tossesof the dice could be affected by the mind. However, his results were mixed, and they were not able to be duplicated. We also have to mention Uri Geller here – the gentleman from the 1970’s that was very adept at bending spoons with his mind.

Psychokinesis can also include levitation, miraculous healings, apports and other things that are generally thought to be the province of holy people and adepts of magic from all cultures.

While this is an area that is all too open to “fakery”, my thought is that we need to keep an open mind, and see how this might apply to our own lives.

In a previous blog I talked about the importance of dreams, and how to remember them (as well as how to ask for them). Because symbols are so important in dreams, I thought that it might be a good idea to share a few basic definitions. These are only starting points – each individual needs to interpret their dreams from their own perspective and life experience.

Abandonment: If a general feeling of abandonment appears in your dreams, this could indicate that the dreamer needs to leave behind feelings and/or ways of thinking that originated in the past. It also indicates that the dreamer has a literal fear of either abandonment or perhaps betrayal.

Abduction: When this theme enters into dreamtime, the dreamer feels that they are being controlled in waking time by people or circumstances around them.

Above: Moving in an upwards direction, or seeing something above you, indicates that the dreamer needs to set their goals higher.

Abuse: If the dreamer is the one doing the abusing, this indicatea that their past actions are coming back to haunt them. If the dreamer is the one being abused, this is an indication that they feel they are being taken advantage of in some way in their waking life.

Building: Buildings in a dream represent the dreamers self, or physical body. How high the dreamer is in the building represents their level of spiritual awareness. If the building is in a negative state, then the dreamer is approaching a relationship or issue in their life in the wrong manner. The collapse of a building can indicate that the dreamer lost sight of their goals. Climbing a building can indicate that the dreamer is letting their ambitions carry them away.

Ladder: If the dreamer is climbing a ladder, this is an indication that they have achieved some form of... Read More

Dreamtime is a very special time. The dreams that come to us serve many purposes – they help us to bring resolution to daytime issues, they act as a “heads up” to issues that are upcoming, and they bring us messages from Spirit. We can actually work with our dreams, both to understand them and to put them in perspective in our daily lives.

The first thing that we want to do is be able to remember our dreams. We can help ourselves here if we keep pen and paper near our bedside. When we wake up from a dream – even if it is in the middle of the night – it is best to take a moment or two to write down everything that we can remember. Any words, actions, sights, smells, attitudes, colors, symbols – anything that we remember should be written down.

For those of you that think you do not dream, or only remember parts of your dreams, try telling yourself as you go to sleep that you will remember your dreams. The more you can remember of your dreams, the more comfortable you will feel remembering them. Interpretation of our dreams depends upon what we remember – the colors in the dream, the figures or buildings, symbols, actions, emotions – all of this will help you to interpret what is going on and where it fits into your life.

You can also ask for dreams on specific subjects. Formulate a question that is short, concise, and addresses the topic that you need information on. Hold this question in your mind as you go to sleep. If you are getting dreams that you understand parts of, but do not understand other parts of, then ask for clarification before you go to sleep on whatever you did not understand.

Remember – you are the dreamer, your Higher Self is the dream maker. You are in charge of your own dreamtime – make it work for you!

Is it possible to develop psychic ability? Yes, it certainly is! Psychic ability is based on the development of the five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste and sense) – senses tat we all have. What we need to determine as individuals is which of our senses we are naturally gifted with – which can be most easily developed.

The first step in developing our natural psychic ability is accepting that this ability exists. It is understanding that in tapping into this ability we are tapping into a universal consciousness. It is our subconscious mind connecting with our conscious mind. We can help ourselves by assimilating as much information as we can about psychic ability through books, magazines, Internet articles and sites, and attending seminars on the subject.

To get some understanding of which areas we are strongest in, it is a good idea to take some form of ESP or Psychic test/quiz. We offer a comprehensive quiz here - http://www.psychicpower.com/quizzes/TakeQuiz.aspx?id=4 .

Once we have some idea of which psychic areas we are strongest in, we need to practice using them. Remember – all we are doing is focusing on one or more senses that we already use every day of our lives. Begin by taking a few minutes each day to sit down, calm your mind (taking deep breaths, and focusing on your breathing will help with this), and allow your thoughts to wander. You may want to build a vision in your mind of a green meadow, with a flowing brook running through it and the sun shining.

Allow any thoughts that come to you to flow. You may see visual pictures, you may hear thoughts in your mind, you may have a “sixth sense” about something. When you are done, journal any information that you have received. On a periodic basis, go over your journal and see how this information has played out in your life.

Combine this with paying attention to... Read More

“The 7 Connections to Happiness and Harmony” (Shirley Desai, Shared Step Press, 2009) brings together the process of decision making with our seven basic chakra’s (the energy centers that run along our spinal column and control the energy coming into and leaving our body). When we add the chakra system as a way of dealing with the choices and decisions that we are faced with on a daily basis, we are bringing spirituality into our daily lives in a significant manner.

In her introduction Desai notes that she is applying the ancient system of the chakras to the processes of thinking and decision making. In her overview, Desai notes that each chakra correlates with a region of the body or a nerve center, and that, in turn, to levels of consciousness and spiritual constructs.

The chakra’s are identified as:

  1. Chakra One (Root Chakra) – safety and fear
  2. Chakra Two (Sacral Chakra) – excitement and pleasure
  3. Chakra Three (Solar Plexis Chakra) - ego and values
  4. Chakra Four (Heart Chakra) – heart and t ruth
  5. Chakra Five (Throat Chakra) – creativity and self-expression
  6. Chakra Six (Third Eye/Brow Chakra) – analysis and intuition
  7. Chakra Seven (Crown Chakra) – vision and higher purpose

Separate chapters are devoted to each of the chakra’s. Each chapter discusses the purpose of the specific chakra, how it works in our life, questions to be answered about the readers experience of that chakra, secrets to maintaining “Mountaintop Thinking” (clear sighted thinking), and ends with a summary of how to work with the issues of that chakra.

This is a book to be worked with, and not simply read. It is a valuable resource for those that wish to make better decisions, in less time, with less stress.
