Although we might prefer a lighthearted mood at year’s end, the truth is that early December 2009 finds us all in the midst of personal and world developments requiring deep thought and a meaningful, focused response.
There’s an astrological reason why. In 2009 and 2010, the planets Saturn and Pluto are positioned in such a manner as to force upon us the consideration of serious issues, especially in regard to taking responsibility for our impact on each other and the planet. Many do not want to be called to this accountability, but taskmaster Saturn and thorough Pluto will not let anyone off for cheap at this time. Our only choice is to look within and find a way to stop destructive attitudes and behaviors in our personal lives, in our personal relationships, in business, politics, and in international affairs. In fact, this is actually what’s happening, though it’s such a slow process that we do not yet see the completed project.
What we do see in early December is the aftermath of intense astrological energies which occurred in mid November 2009 and around the Full Moon of December 1 – 2, 2009. These kicked up a storm.
This week, we are assimilating what happened during those astrological activations. As a consequence, December 6 – 12 is an interval in which we sort through perspectives, evaluate impressions, and examine concepts. New information was thrust into our consideration by the events and feelings of mid November and the Full Moon of December 1 – 2, 2009. Right now, we need to process all this. It is not possible to rush this along. December 6 – 12 requires that we allow understanding to unfold within us at a natural and unhurried pace.
In fact, patience is the key to good self-management during the week of December 6 – 12. Delays and complicated, long-drawn out processes take center stage on Sunday and Monday. At the same time, communication devices misbehave and travel bogs down. The log-jam does not clear out until later in the week. Fortunately, Thursday, Friday and Saturday bring the stress and annoyance level down dramatically, with pleasant times and more congenial conditions available all around.
Even so, there’s no forgetting background reality. The planets Saturn and Pluto are currently positioned in such a manner as to bring underlying issues sharply into focus for individuals and for the nations of the world. Inner burdens holding us down for years are now surfacing and demanding attention. Late 2009 is a critical time because it will shape the future according to how wisely we deal with the residue of the past, with deep-seated hurts, and with important truths that we’ve unconsciously hidden from ourselves, individually and collectively.
