The focal point for this week takes place on Saturday with the arrival of New Moon. Leading up to that, the 8th through the 12th of February offers a relatively peaceful interlude to catch up on any back-logged matters and get back to basics. As routine as that may sound, the good news it that this week we have an excellent opportunity to stabilize emotionally and to lower the generally high stress level which has been in place since the Saturn-Pluto square of late January.
As the week starts, peace and pleasantry greet us right off. Monday brings good cheer, as a Venus-Neptune conjunction together with the Moon in Sagittarius lifts our spirits, brings kindly connections, and makes us think high and lofty thoughts. There’s just one glitch, however. Late afternoon and early evening are likely to be somewhat hectic when the active Sagittarius Moon squares excitable Uranus. The pace mellows later Monday night, offering a fine quiet period from 9 – midnight EST just right for the expression of encouragement and affection.
But Tuesday is all work. Mother Moon visits the practical and determined sign of Capricorn, starting early this day. Then early in the afternoon, she squares judicial Saturn and tangles with compelling Pluto by conjunction, coloring Tuesday a muddy blue-gray and forcing all to contend with the harder tasks of living. Even so, a sense of accomplishment helps us get along around 4 pm EST when the entrepreneurial Capricorn Moon makes a sextile to generous Jupiter. Business is likely to be good late on Tuesday; after all, we shall have earned it.
We are still in work mode on Wednesday with more Capricorn Moon, our heads bent to the challenges at hand. But Mercury enters Aquarius and brings new items of information and interest, greetings from pals, and intriguing tidbits of gossip.
Thursday the mood changes, bringing hints of emotional companionship and compatibility as soft-squeeze Venus enters the romantic sign of Pisces. Late tonight, the Moon joins Mercury in Aquarius and activates all the communication channels, inclining all to seek information and interaction. The social networking sites will buzz, dating sites will hum, and phones will jingle. However, not everything one reads or hears during this time frame should be regarded as gospel.
And then Friday, oh Friday! The pace picks up rather dramatically, for the New Moon is fast approaching. But there’s more to it than that. Friday and Saturday will be affected powerfully by a Mercury-Mars opposition. This arrangement stimulates intellectual curiosity and drive, but it also tends to invite circumstances conducive to confrontations and arguments. Travel also may be affected, with irritations, disregard of speed limits, and general aggression figuring strongly. Road rage is a distinct possibility. At the very least, there will be too many people in too much of a hurry, so we should all be prepared to step back and give space. Only if a deep matter of principle hangs in the balance should we dig in and stand our ground during this period. Also, we should be mindful that odd and quirky things can happen with trickster Mercury dueling with sudden Mars. Safety should be our first concern, fun and wackiness much less so.
Saturday brings the New Moon in the 25th degree of Aquarius, taking place at 9:51 pm EST. Neptune is close by at 26 Aquarius and therefore involved, indicating a month ahead in which all can share in the mind power of Aquarius and the psychic power of receptive Neptune, which together will bring expanded levels of consciousness.
Sunday re-states this theme with a Sun-Neptune conjunction, bringing a dreamy and otherworld state of mind conducive to dreams, trance, psychic perception, and journeys in the spirit world. This influence is generally positive but may also bring extra-heavy rains on the physical level and attraction to unhealthy escapisms on the psychological level. If we are feeling lonely and needing support, we should look for and get it from dependable sources in the community.
The weekend closes out with a Moon-Jupiter conjunction in spiritual Pisces on Sunday evening, bringing understanding, hope and encouragement to all, as well as a view into the spirit side of life.
