Ask Jeanmarie - Should I Accept the New Job Offer?

Hello Jeanmarie,
I’ve been in the same job for 15 years now. The pay is not the best but it’s consistent, plus there are health benefits. There is no room for advancement, I work by myself so there is no type of socialization with other employees, this job makes me feel so robotic, I feel I am at a dead end. I’ve recently been offered a job, something that I know I would be good at and would enjoy more than the job I am doing right now. I am excited at the prospect of doing this job, however I am afraid to accept this offer since this is a new, small company. The pay is better but I would not have any health insurance for a while and that is important to me since I am a single mother. I am afraid to take the plunge. What should I do?

There are going to be problems in every job, the key is to figure out what kind of problems you most enjoy solving. You are successful and secure and experiencing the restlessness of having already reached your goal. Working toward the goal is more satisfying than reaching it.

You are trying to make a decision between Freedom and Security. The Freedom of taking the plunge or the Security of staying where you are and finding a way to make it more interesting, or a way to earn more money without leaving where you are, and finding creative ways to socialize more away from the workplace. Life without Liberty or Freedom is like a body without a Spirit, but before you take the leap of Faith, how lucky do you feel? Do you have the courage to take the chance? How much of a gamble is it? How confident are you in your ability to find other work quickly (or get the old job back) if the new business fails? Are you having a "tug of war" between your head and your heart? Or between your body and Soul (spirit)?

Meditate. Organize your thoughts, quiet your mind, and "look and listen" within yourself, consult your Self. What are your instincts (usually passions and/or fears) telling you? From this level the Ambition Style is Competitive, the Aim is "Survival of the Fittest", "Business is war".

What is your heart telling you? Ambition Style is Altruistic. Following your heart alone can sometimes lead to negative consequences for you. "Charity costs the one who gives it." Aim is to "change" or "save" the world.

Are you using your head? This Ambition Style is the Entrepreneur. Motivation is Ego, Pride, who you are, who you want to be. Aim is Success, Achievement, Money, Fame, Prosperity and Satisfaction, by acting on a well analyzed feasible blueprint.

Lastly, but first, what is the intuition of Your Spirit telling you? This is the Aspiring Ambition Style. Aim and Motivation is to find you true Soul's calling, do what you were born to do, or realize it and change it, to be your Authentic Self. Spiritual Guidance and Direction proves its Self, because it brings with it the action, ability and resources to carry out the plan, idea or suggestion it gives. If it is intuition of the Spirit you will know that you are moving in the right direction, coming from a place of calm, centered, levelheaded Integrity because your Instincts, Heart, and Head will be in agreement and alignment with your Soul-Mind-Spirit. You will know you are "there" if the decision brings you Peace of Mind. Peace of Mind is the only True Happiness.

I wish you Happiness and Peace of Mind!
Namaste and Blessed Be,
Your Witchster,
Jeanmarie.
