I like to watch people - see how they conduct themselves, and how they interact with others. I have many well meaning friends that seem to create absolute havoc in their lives from time to time. I started to think about just why that might be.

I noticed that my friends that were eperiencing the havoc in their lives had one thing in common - the were unknowingly allowing their fears to run their lives. They were focusing on what they did not want to happen, rather than what they wanted to happen.

Instead on focusing their thinking on "How can I best address my work issues?", they were thinking "Please don't let me lose this job!" They were so afraidof what they did not want to lose (whether it was a job, a relationship or something else) that they were indeed drawing it to them.

These are smart people, and they would never do this on purpose. They were creating a shell of energy around them that was reaching out and grabbing exactly that which they did not want.

How can we counteract this type of thinking? The first thing that we need to do is recognize that this is what we are doing. The next thing that we need to do is each time we hear the negative thinking pattern in our mind, we need to stop ourselves and consciously replace it with positive thinking.

We may need to do this many times, because patterns once formed are not easily broken. We need to become very clear in our own mind abut exactly what it is that we want to manifest in our lives. Then we need to form a positive affirmation - a statement made in the present tense, in a positive manner, that affirms that we already have that which we are wishing to manifest.

What are you wishing to manifest? Write out a short affirmation, and repeat it to yourself (in your mind, or aloud) throughout the day.

You can have the life that you wish

What a lovely day - no wind, no rain, and the sun is shining brightly! Our yard is filled with beautiful yellow daffodils - and for once, I am not lookng at them and thinking what a pain it will be when their season is over and I have to cut them down!

I am sitting here with a cup of coffee, and enjoying my view of the yard. My cats have been fed, and are outside playing. All is right with their world too!

This time of year we walk around our yards, noting the damage from winter - what plants made it, what didn't. We start to think about what we want in this years garden, and how soon we should start planting it. (We still get frost here until mid-May.)

As we pay due diligence to our outer gardens, we also need to pay due diligence to our inner garden - the garden of our soul. What flowers there are shining brightly, and what weeds to we need to pull?

Perhaps the weeds started out as flowers, but over time they ceased to serve our best interests. Can we tell the difference in our life between a lovely "formal" flower, an equally lovely "wild" flower, and a weed that threatens to run rampant?

Okay, we can probably get the weed thing figured out fairly quickly. But once we have it figured out, do we pull it out of our inner garden (release the negative energy from our life), or does it simply retain a permanent place on our lengthy "to do" list?

An unweeded garden not only looks as if we are not paying attention to it, but the lovely flowers that were once thriving are overcome by the weeds, and they lose their place.

What do you need to weed from your inner garden? Once you have your garden weeded (and htis is always an ongoing task!), what lovely flowers do you wish to place there?

Make your personal garden the very best that it can be!

I have become hooked on The Mentalist! I like the fact that he is so grounded in the here and now that he is able to accept what he sees/feels without judgment, and without fear.

In last nights show he saw what everyone else saw - what appeared to be a bully, and what appeared to be a practicing witch. Beneath  both of these personas were people that had been abused by life, and were in actuality victims themselves. And both of these peopel were protecting the same person! Awesome!

In this morning's Meltwater News I ran across an article from Bella Online (quite an interesting site!). It was discussing dream symbols and archetypes. (Some dream symbols are particular to the individual doing the dreaming, others are archetypal in nature - they carry the same energy for all people, and are recognized in the same manner.)

The lead-in to the article was quite a common scenario - someone being chased by a figure whose face they cannot see.  I know that I have had this dream more than once, and I imagine that you have too. This type of dream was said to be an expression of the animus, or male principle, that we all carry within us. (Each of us has an anima (female) and animus (male) nature within us.)

Dreams connected with the anima and animus are presented as dreams that connect our conscious and subconscious (unconscious) selves. They are helping us along the path of what Jung termed "individuation", or becoming whole.

What are your dreams telling you? If you work with your dreams on an intuitive basis, you will quickly move forward in this lifetime, as you acknowledge and integrate your shadow issues (those issues that we all either refuse to acknowledge, or acknowledge and fear dealing with).

Find the Mentalist within yourself!

Psychic power comes in many forms. Essentially, it is an expansion of one of our five senses - sight, touch, hearing, taste, or smell. We all have one or more gifts, although sometimes we do not recognize them, and sometimes we make the choice not to develop them.

They usually appear when we are children (under the age of five). As children, we consider them to be a valid part of out life, and talk about what is happening to us with the people around us. Most often, our parents (and other people around us) do not understand what is going on, and do not encourage us to verbalize our experiences.

Rather than be chastised for talking about something, small children will often chose to close that area of their life off. That ability then receeds into their inner self, and ofen does not reappear until the child becomes an adult.

Sometimes our abilities comes to us gently as adults, and sometimes they are so strong that they can overwhelm us. Do you have feelings that you do not understand? Do you have intuitive insight (also referred to as "gut instinct"), and are not sure whether to believe it or not?

The trick here is to note what your instincts are, and then file them away and see what happens. Keep a written log of the day and time the instinct comes to you, and what your emotional/bodily response to it is.  Check back over time and see if that gut instinct was correct. The more times that it is correct, the more you will believe in it.

Now that these skills and abilities are given to us for a reason. They are to help us in our personal/spiritual growth, and they are for us to use in helping others. This world needs to see change - people need to learn to work with mother earth, and with each other.

What skills do you see peeping out in your life? How can you use them to help yourself, and to help others? Seek out teachers that can help you develop your gift. Take classes, read book,... Read More
